A 25-year-old man was killed Saturday after his car collided head-on with another car on California 126 near Piru.

Genaro Hernandes Morales, 25, of Santa Paula, died after his car struck a vehicle driven by Carlos Tan, 36, of Saugus, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

Tan, who suffered a broken leg and a concussion, was taken to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, where he was in satisfactory condition Saturday evening.

A passenger in Tan’s car, Carlos Villanueva, 36, of Sacramento, suffered bumps and bruises, CHP officials said.

Morales was headed west on California 126 and Tan was in the eastbound lane when the cars collided, officials said. Morales, who was not wearing a seat belt, died of multiple injuries suffered in the collision, officials said.

Both Tan and Villanueva were wearing seat belts, and an air bag on Tan’s side of the car opened on impact, authorities said.
