1 Dead, 1 Hurt After Motorcycle Hits Rail
A motorcycle crashed into a guardrail in a remote part of the Antelope Valley near Pearblossom early Saturday, killing the driver and slightly injuring a passenger.
The accident occurred on Big Rock Creek Road about one mile east of Valyermo Road at approximately 3 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
Neither the CHP nor the Los Angeles County coroner’s office released any further information on the driver or the passenger.
The driver failed to negotiate a 20-m.p.h. turn, and both people were ejected, CHP Officer Steve Torigoe said.
“He just went a little too fast making a turn on northbound Big Rock Creek Road,” Torigoe said. “He crossed the center lane and hit a guardrail on the other side,” he said.
The passenger sought help, Torigoe said.
