Woman Found Slain Near Malibu Is Identified
Sheriff’s deputies have identified a slain woman whose body was found along a dirt road in a remote area of Malibu last week and now are seeking information that would shed light on the circumstances of her death.
The decomposing body of Sherri Ann Long, 26, also known as Peggi Jean Booth, who lived at times in Hollywood, Long Beach and San Diego, was found July 11 along an unpaved track off Corral Canyon Road. She had been strangled, a coroner’s spokesman said.
The victim was 5-foot-5 and weighed 200 pounds. She had brown hair dyed blonde, hazel eyes, a brown mole under the left eye and a tattoo on one arm. Anyone with information about the death, or about possible relatives of the deceased, was asked to call Sgt. Arthur Fransen or Deputy Ron Lancaster at the sheriff’s homicide bureau, (213) 974-3431.
