SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : School Principal Gets District Post
Thomas R. Anthony, principal of Capistrano Valley High School, has been named Capistrano Unified School District’s director of secondary education.
Anthony, 45, has been Capistrano Valley’s principal for five years. He will now be in charge of the district’s middle school, three junior high schools, three high schools, its continuation high school and its adult school. He replaces Harold Hester, who retired last month.
“As far as career moves, the timing was perfect,” Anthony said. “I wanted to be a principal for five years and then help other people at other schools.”
No successor has been named at Capistrano Valley High, but the district hopes to hire a replacement before the school year begins in September.
If no replacement has been hired by then, Anthony will temporarily do both jobs.
