Satsuma Plum Tree Doesn’t Produce Fruit

Share

Q: I have a 6-year-old Satsuma plum tree that is healthy but doesn’t produce any fruit. I’m going to give it one more year to produce before I remove it. Any ideas?

A: You could leave it in for six more years and it still wouldn’t produce fruit unless you provide it with a pollinator (another plum tree). Plant a Santa Rosa plum tree in close proximity and in two years you’ll have lots of fruit from your Satsuma.
