WARNING SHOT: If the Legislature prohibits discrimination against gays, the Rev. Louis P. Sheldon, Anaheim’s conservative crusader, promises to overturn the act with a ballot measure in June. . . . The California secretary of state’s office recently approved Sheldon’s plan to collect signatures for the measure. Organizers say it’s a weapon they won’t use until they see if the bill passes. Sheldon’s son, Steve, says: “If the bill passes, I can guarantee you there will be something on the ballot to overturn it.”
