Encino Man Slain in Van Nuys Parking Lot
Los Angeles police on Tuesday were investigating the death of an Encino man gunned down in the parking lot of the Automobile Club of Southern California in Van Nuys.
Gregory Steinman, 57, was found near his car in the parking lot at 6725 Kester Ave, about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Detective Steve Hooks said.
Hooks said Steinman, an auto body shop owner, had just registered a vehicle in the building and was walking back to his car when he was shot.
He died about five hours later at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys.
Hooks said none of Steinman’s property appeared to have been stolen and detectives were searching for witnesses.
No one had been arrested.
