PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Talks Planned With Strickland’s Agent

Share

The Rams are scheduled to hold further negotiations Sunday night with Bruce Allen, the agent for holdout linebacker Fred Strickland. On Friday, Allen said he couldn’t predict whether a deal will be struck then.

Allen also laughed off reports that he was in the process of working a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to get Strickland traded there.

“Yeah, where did that come from?” Allen said. “I heard another one I like better: Fred and Todd Lyght to Pittsburgh for Rod Woodson. Buy that? Let’s start that one.”

Coach John Robinson said that because the Rams--currently at the NFL limit of 80 players--play their next three games in a span of 10 days, he planned to cut eight to 10 players after Monday night’s game, a week before teams have to get down to a 60-man roster. . . . Tailback Marcus Dupree didn’t practice again Friday after injuring his left foot on a late-hit Wednesday, but both Robinson and Dupree seemed to think he could play Monday.

The Anaheim City Council this week approved a $1 increase in parking fees at Anaheim Stadium during the football season. Fans attending Ram games, as well as the Disneyland Pigskin game and the Freedom Bowl, must pay $6 to park in the stadium lot.
