Two men were arrested Saturday night on suspicion of kidnaping and felony hit-and-run after they allegedly forced a man into their car and critically injured a pedestrian at a state beach park, police said Sunday.

Police Lt. Patrick Gildea said Rudy Navarro, 25, of Long Beach and Ted Fedele, 26, of Ontario were sitting in their cars in a parking lot at Bolsa Chica State Beach about 9 p.m. when Navarro’s car was struck by another car.

The driver sped off toward the parking lot exit, Gildea said, with Navarro and Fedele chasing it on foot.

Navarro and Fedele cornered the car at the exit and exchanged words with the driver, Danilo Tamondong, 21, of Cypress, and a passenger, Eduardo Solomon, 27, of Long Beach, Gildea said. One of the men pulled Fedele into the car, and Tamondong allegedly sped off and struck a pedestrian in the parking lot before fleeing south on Pacific Coast Highway, Gildea said.

Navarro returned to his car and took off in pursuit, Gildea said. After a short distance, Tamondong allegedly drove back to the parking lot, and one of the men dumped Fedele out of the car. Fedele had been beaten, Gildea said.

Seal Beach police stopped the car and arrested Tamondong and Solomon at 2nd Street and Pacific Coast Highway. Tamondong was booked on a charge of felony hit-and-run and kidnaping, and Solomon was booked on charges of kidnaping and assault and battery.

The pedestrian, who was not identified, was in critical condition at Long Beach Memorial Hospital Sunday.
