Sierra Madre : 7.3% Hike in Trash Fee
The City Council unanimously approved a 7.3% increase for the city’s private trash hauling service.
The 75-cents-per-month hike was adopted Tuesday after two months of negotiations between two council members and representatives of Western Waste Industries.
The firm had asked for an increase of 87 cents per month, which it said was necessary because of increased dumping fees.
Most residents will pay $11 a month under the new rate, which will go into effect in the next billing cycle.
