California IN BRIEF : REDDING : Woman Killed as Truck Hits House
A woman was killed when a truck, driven by a suspected drunk driver, crashed through her living room as she watched television with her family, officials said. Concetta Marie Sparrow, 34, died instantly. Her husband, Lindell, 29, was sitting next to her and suffered minor injuries when he was hit by debris, said Redding Police Officer Chris Rathbun. Vernon Miles, 50, of Redding, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter. He posted $25,000 bail and was released. Officials said Miles apparently lost control of the vehicle, which went across the Sparrows’ lawn, hit a tree and tore into a corner of the house.
