IRVINE : Cable Failure Leaves Customers Powerless

Power was lost to 1,026 customers for nearly two hours Friday morning when an underground supply cable failed.

Steve Hansen, Southern California Edison spokesman, said the cause of the failure was still under investigation, but electricity was restored at 8 a.m. when power was routed through an another circuit.

Hansen said electricity was temporarily lost in the area bounded generally by Warner Avenue on the north, Alton Parkway to the south, San Joaquin to the west and Yale Avenue to the east.
