VENTURA : Youth Hits Elderly Woman, Steals Rings
Police are searching for a youth who stole three rings from a Ventura residence after assaulting an elderly woman, authorities said.
Officer Jon Castellanos said the youth choked and knocked the woman to the floor after entering her North Olive Street house through an unlocked rear door Monday.
The youth, believed to be about 15, then cut the phone lines, stole three rings from the bedroom and fled on foot, Castellanos said. The value of the rings was not disclosed.
The woman, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries.
