Los Angeles : Hernandez Can Hire Staff
The Los Angeles City Council has cleared the way for City Councilman-elect Mike Hernandez to hire his staff by exempting the 1st District council office from a citywide hiring freeze.
The council voted unanimously Tuesday to waive the hiring freeze for Hernandez, the longtime Latino political activist who was elected last week to replace Gloria Molina.
