2 Officers Who Care

Share

In these days of adamant hate for the Los Angeles Police Department, I had to write about the caring and sensitivity shown by two Valley LAPD officers.

I regret I failed to obtain their names, to include them in this letter, but I’m sure there are many officers who share the love of people and the pride in their profession displayed by these two.

A good friend of mine, a widow because of her husband’s brutal killing in New York, was distraught when her youngest child, a son 14, failed to return home from summer school.

These two officers took a report from my friend and agreed, obviously with cooperation of their senior officers, that a missing teen-ager, who had only just arrived in the state, was serious.

Around 10 p.m., the boy was brought home by a friend’s parent, which does not detract from the caring the two officers showed, helping relieve the suffering of a distraught woman who had already lost her husband to violence.

Thanks to the Los Angeles Police Department and its officers.
