Hinkle Trails by One in Junior Golf Event
Paul Hinkle of Costa Mesa shot a two-over-par 73 and was one shot behind the leader after the first round of the Samuel Levestson Memorial golf tournament in New Seabury, Mass.
Stephen Shunk of Chatham, N.J., was the first-round leader in the American Junior Golf Assn. event. Joe Garner of El Toro shot 80.
In the boys’ 13-14 division, Ben Garner of El Toro shot a three-over 73 and trailed leader Danny Duffy of Washington Crossing, Pa., by two strokes.
