Police Seek 3 Men in Home Robbery

Police are searching for three men who robbed an Oxnard man late Wednesday afternoon and tried to kill him by placing a plastic bag over his head, authorities said.

When Poncianoe Augustin, 58, answered a knock on his door about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, three men pushed their way into his home and demanded money at gunpoint, police said. After binding Augustin’s hands behind him with duct tape and placing a towel over his face, the men ransacked the house on Lions Gate Drive, police said.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken, along with several credit cards and some jewelry.

At one point during the robbery, one of the men placed a bag over Augustin’s head and secured it around his neck, police said. Augustin sustained a cut on his arm and some bruises from being kicked by one of the suspects.
