A third suspect in the fatal shooting of an El Cajon liquor store owner has been arrested at the San Ysidro border crossing, police said.
Dung Hung Ly, 24, was arrested shortly after 3 p.m. Monday when a U.S. immigration inspector recognized him, El Cajon Police Lt. Bob Lein said. Ly was known to hang out in Tijuana, and border inspectors were asked to be on the lookout for him, Lein said.
Ly is believed to be the driver of the getaway car in an Aug. 18 holdup in which Thomas Mikhael, 31, was killed. David Wartan, 17, a nephew of Mikhael, was seriously injured.
Ly was booked into County Jail downtown on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and robbery.
