Irvine Card Features Baltazar, Castro
Junior welterweight Tony Baltazar of La Puente returns to the ring for the first time in a year when he fights Alberto Castro of San Diego tonight in the monthly boxing program at the Irvine Marriott.
In his most recent bout, Baltazar (35-4-1) lost a 12-round decision to Hector Camacho in August, 1990. Castro (28-10) has done much of his fighting in Mexico. Tonight’s main event is scheduled for 10 rounds.
Villa Park’s Mike Samaza (5-0-1) will be featured in a six-round semi-main event. He meets Juan Carlos Lopez of Los Angeles in a featherweight bout.
Tickets--priced at $32, $27, and $22--go on sale at 10 a.m. today. The first bout starts at 7:30 p.m.
