Norville Speaks Up: Deborah Norville, who left the “Today” show earlier this year while on maternity leave, said she was deeply hurt by her experience at NBC. “I was shocked at some of the inaccuracies in the press--quotes people never said. And hurt by the things that were said. These were my brothers and sisters on ‘Today,’ and suddenly they were saying things that hurt. But I’m a survivor,” she says in Sunday’s Parade magazine. Norville, who has since given birth to her first child, says she has heard from Jane Pauley and Willard Scott, but her former co-host, Bryant Gumbel, “has never called since I had the baby.” Norville begins a network radio program on ABC next month and now also wants to write.
