A Solana Beach woman was arrested Sunday in connection with the stabbing death of her husband, whose body had been buried in the front yard of their home since Friday, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Kimberly Delon, 34, of the 500 block of Lomas Santa Fe Drive was charged with murder in the death of her husband, 33-year-old Bernard Delon, said Sgt. Manny Castillo, a homicide investigator for the Sheriff’s Department.

The department was alerted by Kimberly Delon’s mother, who telephoned a dispatcher to report that her daughter had committed the slaying and buried the body, Castillo said.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Delon home, where they took Kimberly Delon into custody without incident. Bernard Delon’s body was unearthed from a shallow grave. He appeared to have been stabbed in the torso, Castillo said.

Deputies found blood in the home’s master bedroom, believed to be the scene of the stabbing, and recovered a knife believed to be the murder weapon, Castillo said.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.
