PREP FOOTBALL ’91 : ORANGE LEAGUE : Valencia

Share

OUTLOOK

No surprises here. The Tigers are ranked third in the Southern Section Division VI preseason poll and are picked to win the league, which they have done in seven of the past eight seasons. They return all their key skill players, including quarterback O’Brien, all-league players Barnes (548 yards in 71 carries, 12 touchdowns) and Roskelly (661 yards in 75 carries, 10 touchdowns). Wingback Korey Alexander was a second-team all-league selection last year, and twin brother Kevin is a returning starter at wide receiver. “I have a tough time telling those two apart,” Marrujo said. Phil Schuman, last year’s starting tight end, is nursing a knee injury and his status is in doubt for the season. Marrujo is counting on Williams, a three-year starter, for leadership on the offensive line along with first-time starter Parker.
