2 Palmdale Men Held in Fatal Beating
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two Palmdale men in the fatal beating of 43-year-old Valentin Sanchez Montesdeco, whose body was found half-buried in a drainage ditch.
Paul Nicholson, 26, and Michael Goldsberry, 21, were being held without bail in the Antelope Valley Jail on suspicion of murder, Sgt. Ron Spear said Tuesday.
Nicholson and Goldsberry were arrested Monday afternoon as they walked together on Sixth Street East in Palmdale, not far from where Montesdeco’s body was discovered Sunday evening. Investigators believe they bludgeoned Montesdeco, a Palmdale resident, during a robbery, then used his automatic teller card at a local bank, Spear said.
Detectives were seeking witnesses to the killing, which occurred early Sunday in the 38000 block of Sixth Street East.
