COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Donahue Sees a Good Sign at Receiver
With the loss of wide receivers Scott Miller and Reggie Moore, UCLA Coach Terry Donahue was concerned at the start of the season about the experience of his receiving corps.
Sean LaChapelle was the only returning receiver who played regularly last year.
So Donahue was pleased with the performance of Paul Richardson against Brigham Young. A senior who was hampered by injuries last season, Richardson caught six passes for 87 yards Saturday night in the 27-23 victory at the Rose Bowl.
“Paul has real speed,” Donahue said. “He can beat teams deep, which is a nice thing to have in a flanker.”
Richardson, 6 feet 3 and 199 pounds, had one reception for 11 yards in 1990.
