Venice : Traffic Snarls to Get Worse

Share

The southbound lane of Abbot Kinney Boulevard at Venice Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. this week. Drivers should expect snarled traffic during those hours and use alternate routes.

The shutdown is meant to allow crews with the Department of Water and Power to encase a water line in concrete to protect it from ongoing construction on Venice Boulevard.

Construction has jammed traffic along Venice Boulevard ever since the redesign of the boulevard began late last spring. It is expected to end by next summer, said Pat Tomcheck, an engineer with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
