The Superior Court of Los Angeles, Family Court Services, will offer a free divorce seminar Sept. 28 at Cal State Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St. The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Workshops will be offered on how to deal with children of divorce, adjusting to separation, money management, family violence, parenting plans, substance abuse and more. The Valley Interfaith Council will hold its annual charity golf tournament Sept. 30. The tournament will be at Braemar Country Club, 4001 Reseda Blvd., Tarzana. The shotgun start will be at 11 a.m. Registration will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. The entry fee is $125 per person, which includes green fees, cart, tee prizes, a barbecue lunch on the course and dinner program. The Foothill Athletic Club is holding a canned food drive through September and October to benefit Love Is Feeding Everyone (LIFE). The club is at 3931 Lowell Ave., La Crescenta. Cans may be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bring five cans or more and receive a free workout at the club. The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer its fall session of the Junior Lifeguard program. The class is available to boys and girls ages 9 to 17. It promotes physical fitness, aquatic safety and awareness and involvement in water recreation. The session will be held Sept. 29 through Nov. 3 and will meet on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Tryouts for the class will be held Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Santa Clarita pool, 27285 Seco Canyon Road, Saugus.
