A minor earthquake centered in Montebello rattled some areas of the Southland on Saturday, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
The quake registered a magnitude of 2.9, according to Doug Smith, spokesman for Caltech in Pasadena.
It struck at 10:54 a.m. and was centered in Montebello, about six miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
“It’s a very small earthquake,” Smith said. “It’s about as small as you can feel.”
