Filly Dance Smartly Wins Again

Dance Smartly, filly winner of the Canadian Triple Crown, caught Shudanz in the stretch Sunday to win the Molson Export Million at Woodbine Race Track.

Fly So Free, the 6-5 favorite, finished fourth.

Shudanz took the early lead under apprentice Mickey Walls and stayed there until the final turn. Pat Day kept Dance Smartly slightly off the pace, and Shudanz led by a neck at the top of the stretch. Dance Smartly then pulled away to a two-length victory, finishing in 1:49 1/5 for the 1 1/8 miles.

Dance Smartly paid $5.30, $3.70 and $3.30. Shudanz returned $14.40 and $8.90 and Majesterian paid $12.50 to show.
