HUNTINGTON BEACH — A 95-year-old man died of injuries suffered Monday afternoon after he apparently lost control of his car and crashed into the living room of a house, police said.
Roy Edward Brown of Huntington Beach was treated for severe facial and head injuries at the scene. He was dead on arrival at UCI Medical Center, Police Sgt. Luis Ochoa said.
Police said Brown was driving west on 11th Street when he stopped his 1987 Oldsmobile at the stop sign at Main Street at 1:30 p.m. As he was turning left onto Main, Brown lost control of the car, drove onto the sidewalk and crashed into a house on 11th Street, Ochoa said.
No one was home at the time. The living room of the house was moderately damaged.
Police said Brown had a valid driver’s license.
