PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Piel, Jenkins Might Sit Out

Defensive tackle Mike Piel (dislocated left shoulder) and offensive tackle Robert Jenkins (hyper-extended left big toe) probably will sit out this week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers after being injured Sunday night.

The Rams have only two uninjured defensive tackles--rookie Robert Young and Chris Pike--and only six uninjured offensive linemen.

Coach John Robinson said he didn’t play tailback Cleveland Gary in Sunday night’s loss to the New Orleans Saints because the Rams never got their running game going.

The 24-7 loss to New Orleans means that the Rams have been outscored in their last five prime-time appearances, 149-55, with two more to go this season. “Maybe we’re getting up too early in the morning,” Robinson said.
