Godunov’s New Dance
It doesn’t take much talent to act tough and beat people up, so who can hold it against Godunov for turning down roles such as the one he played in “Die Hard”?
In “The Money Pit,” he was warm, expressive and funny. In “Witness,” he looked the part of the Amish farmer, not like a ballet star playing the role. (When Mikhail Baryshnikov acts, he sounds as if he’s just reciting his lines and he doesn’t play anyone but himself.)
Godunov is a lovable hunk who’s about as intimidating as Jimmy Stewart. He should be doing heroic and romantic comedy roles.
