Recycling Reasons

My amusement with your recent story (Sept. 12) on the bride-to-be who waded through the truck load of trash to find the discarded can of beans containing her engagement ring was tainted by the first thought that flashed in my mind: Why didn’t she recycle the can?

It would have saved her, and the many city employees involved, the time, expense and anxiety of searching for the lost item. As it was, she ended up getting injured, and the $30 she paid to have the trash dumped in a special area will hardly cover the expense of the search.
