Syracuse, a 38-21 winner over Florida, moved up eight spots to a 10th-place tie with Penn State in the Associated Press football poll.
Nebraska, which lost to Washington, 36-21, dropped from ninth to 16th. Florida went from fifth to 14th.
Arizona State, after beating USC, 32-25, is ranked No. 24.
Florida State, Miami and Michigan retained the top three spots in both the AP and CNN/USA Today polls after taking the weekend off.
