WEEKEND TV : Flashbacks: ‘Star Trek’ and Dr. Seuss

Share

Mr. Spock and Dr. Seuss will make for some big-time TV nostalgia this weekend.

Channel 13’s 12-hour “Star Trek” marathon begins at 10 a.m. today with 10 hours of episodes from the original NBC series interspersed with interviews with the show’s famed stars. The Trekkie dream day culminates at 8 p.m. with the “Star Trek 25th Anniversary Special,” hosted by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, which features a retrospective look at the old series, the new series and the feature films.

To mark the passing this week of Theodor S. Geisel--Dr. Seuss to anyone who was ever a kid--TNT will repeat his last feature, “The Butter Battle Book,” Sunday at 3 p.m. This parable about man’s tendency to make war tells the story of the Yooks and the Zooks, who fight constantly over differences in the way each group butters its bread.
