Birmingham 17, Reseda 9--Birmingham quarterback Vince Lampkin scored on a 33-yard run in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory for the host Braves (2-0). Lampkin finished with 14 rushes for 115 yards in addition to passing for 49 yards on six of seven completions.
The visiting Regents (1-1) scored on the opening kickoff when senior tailback Henry McAlpine evaded several tacklers to score a 90-yard touchdown. The Braves (2-0) immediately recovered, mounting a 10-play, 46-yard drive all on rushing plays, culminating with a nine-yard touchdown run by tailback Paul Holt. With kicker Jared Cohen’s extra point, the Braves took a 7-6 lead.
