A 16-year-old North Hollywood youth was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting as he stood outside his family’s apartment building, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.
Cristian Arias was standing with a group of friends in the 11600 block of Friar Street when he was struck in the upper torso and died at the scene, Detective Mike Coffey said.
Police have made no arrests but believe the shooting, which occurred about 11:45 p.m. Monday, to be gang-related. Coffey identified Arias as a gang member who was in the 11th grade at North Hollywood High School.
