OXNARD : Councilman Joins In Mexico Trade Talks
Oxnard Councilman Manuel Lopez joined more than 100 Latino officials and Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari this week in a workshop to discuss free trade, tourism and immigration in Los Angeles.
Lopez said he was pleased with the outcome of Monday’s meeting and was impressed with Salinas’ reforms.
“His primary challenge is to reduce inflation to a single digit as quickly as possible and to increase the gross national product to a greater percentage than the population growth. He has already accomplished the latter and is well on his way to reaching the first goal,” Lopez said.
