HEISMAN BOUND? Nebraska Cornhuskers running back Derek Brown, above, once a star at Servite High School in Anaheim, is already a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate, although he’s just a sophomore (C1). . . . Servite fans aren’t all that surprised. As a senior in 1988, Brown ran for more than 2,400 yards and was named Southern California’s top high school player. Frank Solich, Nebraska’s running backs coach, says: “He’s always looking for the small things that will make him better.”
