A 67-year-old Los Angeles man was killed in a three-car collision in Pacoima on Friday morning after he reportedly ran a red light at 80 m.p.h., authorities said.

Leon Anderson of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles Police Officer Michelle Rivera said.

Anderson was driving his 1989 Buick north on San Fernando Road at 11:30 a.m. when he ran a red light and struck a westbound truck at the intersection of San Fernando Road and Van Nuys Boulevard, witnesses told police.

The force of the crash pushed the truck, driven by Luis Evangelista of Pacoima, into a Toyota Supra also traveling west on Van Nuys, Rivera said. That car was driven by Benjamin Hernandez, 26, of Pacoima.

Evangelista complained of leg pains but said he would seek his own medical treatment, Rivera said. Hernandez, who suffered a gash to his head, was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills and was listed in good condition Friday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said.
