Share

Residents of Simi Valley, Moorpark, Fillmore and surrounding unincorporated areas will have the opportunity tonight to hear the four candidates running to represent Area 4 on the Ventura County Community College District board.

The local chapter of the League of Women Voters will sponsor a candidates’ forum from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers at Simi Valley City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.

The forum will begin with each candidate responding to questions posed by a league representative serving as moderator. Afterward, questions will be taken from the audience, said Grace Bernstein, city director of the Moorpark/Simi Valley chapter of the league.

* Allan W. Jacobs, a retired associate superintendent of the Simi Valley Unified School District,

* Marilyn E. Maurer, a retired high school home economics teacher and

* Terry Timmons, a part-time photography instructor at Ventura College.

The Simi Valley and Moorpark Chambers of Commerce, the Service Employees International Union Local 435, and ComCast Cablevision will co-sponsor the forum, Bernstein said.
