PLYMOUTH, Ind. — Two fathers delinquent in child-support payments have been ordered to carry signs each weekday morning outside the courthouse asking for work. The signs read: “I need a job to support myself and children.”
Marshall County Superior Court Judge Eugene Chipman Sr. ordered the sentences last month after citing Bill Epley, unemployed for nearly a year, and Raymond Hummel, who has not worked full time for three years, for contempt. They must carry the signs, weather permitting, until they get full-time jobs.
