A National Pick 7 for Cup Races

Horse players throughout the United States will get a chance on Nov. 2 to brag that when it comes to handicapping, they are of Breeders’ Cup quality.

On that day there will be a National Pick 7 which in return for as little as $2 can earn a bettor a potentially large payoff by selecting the winners of all seven Breeders’ Cup races at Churchill Downs.

“The National Pick 7 will be available in nearly every state that has parimutuel wagering, and a person can go to any racetrack or off-track betting site in those states where the wager is legal,” Tom Meeker, president of Churchill Downs and of the Thoroughbred Racing Assn., said.

Should no one pick seven winners, the pool would be split among those bettors who selected the greatest number of winners.
