Region : S. African Group Concert

The South African singing group Ladysmith Black Mombazo will perform at Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium at 8 p.m. Friday and at Bridges Auditorium in Claremont at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The group was formed in 1960 in the township of Ladysmith, South Africa, but was virtually unknown outside Africa until being featured on Paul Simon’s “Graceland” album.

Tickets for Caltech performance are $30, $27.50 and $25, with $2 off for youths 18 and under. Student and senior rush tickets will be available at $7.50 half an hour before the performance. Bridges Auditorium tickets are priced at $29, $25 $22, and $18. Tickets for both are available at the box offices and Ticketmaster outlets.
