La Mirada 32, Sonora 25--Mike Moschetti threw for 200 yards and two first-half touchdowns to Alex Khasaempanth for host La Mirada.
The first scoring pass to Khasaempanth came with 8:28 left in the first quarter and gave the Matadores a 7-0 lead. The second, for 65 yards with 3:05 left in the first half, put La Mirada (4-1) in front, 32-13.
Sonora (2-3) closed the gap in the fourth quarter as Robert Knowles completed touchdown passes of seven yards to Kurtis Lucero and two yards to Payem Heidary. Sonora had a chance on the final play, but a Knowles pass was intercepted at midfield.
