Despite ending a drought on the road that lasted more than two years, Cal State Long Beach remains a heavy underdog in the final two games of its month away from home.

CS Long Beach, which will play only three home games this season, is at Fresno State tonight at 7 in a Big West Conference game after ending a 14-game road losing streak last Saturday with a 34-19 victory at Nevada Las Vegas. The 49ers, 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference, have not defeated Fresno State (4-0, 0-0) in 10 years.

The Bulldogs, who crushed New Mexico, 94-17, last Saturday, are averaging 51.8 points, tops in the nation. Long Beach has given up an average of 38 points. Fresno State also leads the nation in total offense, ranks fourth in rushing and is second against the pass. Senior quarterback Mark Barsotti has passed for 1,044 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sophomore tailback Ron Rivers is averaging 8.3 yards a carry.
