Dallas Maverick forward Roy Tarpley was fined for refusing to practice with the team, published reports quote Coach Richie Adubato as saying.
Tarpley has two strikes under the league’s anti-drug and alcohol program.
The Dallas Morning News reported that Tarpley’s fine was set $500. The Dallas Times Herald reported that the fine was $250. Maverick officials did not immediately return telephone calls from the Associated Press.
“Roy said he was sick,” Adubato said. “But if he is sick, we still need to find out what’s wrong with him.”
