Man Found Fatally Beaten in Restroom
A man who was apparently beaten to death was found Monday in a restroom at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
The body was discovered about 7:20 a.m. at Rush Street and Loma Avenue in South El Monte by a sanitation worker, said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Linnemeyer. The victim, who was 25 to 35 years old, had been hit in the head. He has not been positively identified, but detectives believe he may have been a homeless man who was living in the area, Linnemeyer said.
