Police and federal agents seized $3 million in counterfeit money and arrested three men suspected of being involved in a major counterfeiting ring, police said Wednesday.

Details of the seizure and arrest, which happened over the weekend, were not available Wednesday. A news conference is scheduled for today.

The suspects were allegedly producing fake identification cards, driver’s licenses, birth certificates and credit documentations which led to huge losses by many financial institutions, said Bret Colson, spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department.

The suspects were also allegedly involved in printing counterfeit money and in bookmaking activities, Colson said.

Along with the bogus $3 million, officers also seized several small weapons, he said.
