Muir 63, Hoover 7--Muir (3-3, 1-0) used a potent ground attack to hammer visiting Hoover (0-6, 0-1), which could not contain Saladin McCullough and Linza Williams. The two backs combined for 199 yards and five touchdowns in only 20 carries. McCullough also threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Stewart on a halfback option play.
The Mustangs sacked Nathan Dishington eight times for minus-57 yards and held Hoover to 65 yards in total offense. Dishington threw an eight-yard scoring pass to wide receiver Bob Rangsuebsin in the first quarter.
