Diamond Bar : City Joins Transit Group
The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to join other San Gabriel Valley cities in funding a private consultant to prepare comments for the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission’s 30-year transportation plan.
Cities have until Jan. 1 to add suggestions to the plan, which will form the basis for funding of transportation projects. Alhambra has retained Forsythe & Associates to represent the San Gabriel Valley’s interests and has asked other cities to share the expense.
Diamond Bar will put $5,000 of its Proposition A funds toward the consultant’s $50,000 fee.
Council members agreed that the study would give the city greater political voice in transportation decisions.
